Trump fires Attorney-General over refugee order
NAN, U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday night fired acting Attorney-General Sally Yates
for refusing to enforce Refugee Order designed to protect the citizens of the country.
The White House announced the appointment of Dana Boente as the new acting Attorney-General.
Yates sack came after she told Justice Department lawyers not to make legal arguments defending Trump’s executive order on immigration and refugees.
In a statement, the White House said: “The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States.’’
“This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel.
“Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration. It is time to get serious about protecting our country.
The White House’s tougher vetting for individuals travelling from seven dangerous places, was not extreme.
It explained that it was reasonable and necessary to protect our country
