An 18-year-old, Saidu Abdullahi, of Janbago quarters in Katsina State, has been remanded in prison for allegedly committing incest with his eight-year-old younger sister.
Magistrate Hajiya Dikko of the Katsina Senior Magistrates' Court directed on Thursday that Saidu should be in the prison custody till June 29, 2017.
Our correspondent learnt that Saidu, early this month, lured his younger sister to a toilet inside one of the houses at the Steel Rolling Mills Estate, along Dutsin-ma Road in Katsina to commit the act.
The offence is said to be contrary to Section 390 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Kabiru Muhammed, said, "Saidu Abdullahi, 18, of the same address with the victim, lured her to a toilet and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her."
Magistrate Dikko said, "This court will not ask you whether the allegation against you is true or false as the offence alleged against you is only triable by a high court. After police investigation, your case file will be duplicated and sent to the Ministry of Justice for legal advice."
